John Bean, PE, GISP, is an Associate Teaching Professor at Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan. He teaches in the Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Department and specializes in field and computational surveying courses. His work has taken him to Antarctica, the Mojave Desert, and the North Slope of Alaska, among other places. John's personal interests include hiking, dog mushing, and photography. He and his wife, Susan, live in Chassell, Michigan with their three dogs.
