I am a higher education leader dedicated to advancing surgical technology and sterile processing education through innovation, collaboration, and workforce alignment. As the Director of Surgical Services and Program Director for Surgical Technology and Sterile Processing at Pikes Peak State College, I oversee accredited programs that prepare students for essential roles in the operating room and central service departments. My work connects academic excellence with real-world application, ensuring students graduate with the competence and confidence to thrive in today’s healthcare settings.
My experience spans classroom instruction, faculty leadership, accreditation compliance, and program development. I focus on building learning environments that promote critical thinking, professionalism, and workforce readiness. I have led major curriculum updates, expanded clinical partnerships, and strengthened assessment processes to align with both institutional goals and national standards for surgical education.
Beyond my role at the college, I serve as President of the Accreditation Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) and Treasurer of the Colorado/Wyoming State Assembly of the Association of Surgical Technologists (AST). These leadership positions allow me to shape national conversations on accreditation, educational quality, and professional advancement within the surgical disciplines.
I earned my MBA from CSU–Pueblo and hold credentials as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Education (EdD) in Higher Education Leadership and Organizational Studies (HELOS) at Bay Path University.
My leadership philosophy is to model the professionalism, work ethic, and integrity I expect from others. Growth happens when people are challenged, supported, and held to meaningful standards. I lead with consistency, fairness, and a focus on results.
