This book is intended to supplement second-semester general chemistry for science majors. It shows students how the two fundamental concepts of this course (see Units #1 and #3) relate to the topics normally taught in this course. Furthermore, these two concepts also provide the conceptual chemistry needed for students to understand all subsequent chemistry courses (e.g., organic chemistry, bio- chemistry, and physical chemistry, and molecular biology). Conceptual chemistry for the first semes- ter course has already been established, and it appears in all modern general chemistry textbooks (from 1995 to the present).
Unit 1- Visualizing Chemical Potential Energy
Unit 2- Visualizing Chemical Reaction Rates
Unit 3- What Is a Chemical System?
Unit 4- Equilibrium in Chemical Systems
Unit 5- Acid-Base Aqueous Systems
Unit 6- Solubility of Aqueous Salts
Unit 7- Thermodynamic Systems
