Wellness and the Student is an introductory online textbook that provides an introduction and overview to aspects of holistic health and wellness from an inclusive and diverse perspective. Wellness and the Student also explores strategies for promoting personal well-being, while highlighting the interconnectivity between personal health and health promotion in the community. The textbook's objectives are to
- Explore the multi-dimensions of wellness, the interconnections, and impact the wellness dimensions have on personal lives;
- Evaluate the relationship between the theory and practice to individual health and well-being;
- Describe the theory and strategies that apply to health promotion with emphasis on influences that affect individual, family and community health;
- Examine community well-being using the social determinants of health; and
- Demonstrate a foundational understanding of how personal wellness, family, and community health, interconnect.

Breda Eubank (Ph.D., Mount Royal University) is an Assistant Professor and the Athletic Therapy Program Coordinator in the Health & Physical Education Department at Mount Royal University, Calgary, Alberta. She is also Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Faculties of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary and Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Alberta, She is also a Certified Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Professional Rodeo Sport Medicine Team. Breda has served as President and Vice-President of the Alberta Athletic Therapists Association, member of the Regional President’s Committee of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association, and Secretary of the Sport Medicine Council of Alberta. Breda's research program includes provincial quality improvement initiatives to transform care for patients with musculoskeletal conditions. In 2024, she received the Emerging Scholar Award for excellence in research.
