WeSign: ASL and Deaf Perspectives, Level 1 - FlexEd

The weSIGN: ASL & Deaf Perspectives Level One and Level Two FlexEd courseware products provide two semesters of ASL study in line with national standards for American Sign Language learning (ASLTA) and world language learning (ACTFL).  It is intended for students taking a second language to meet degree requirements, as well as for students who wish to study ASL for career purposes.  Through a student-centered approach to learning, the courseware provides students with units broken down into cohesive lessons of vocabulary, target grammar skills, cultural knowledge, and lesson assignments to demonstrate understanding and learning.  Each unit ends with a set of vocabulary and knowledge flashcards for studying and four assessments to demonstrate mastery with receptive, knowledge, expressive, and cultural application.  Most importantly, this series is written by ASL instructors (both Deaf and non-deaf) with all videos showing Deaf sign models from diverse backgrounds.  Instructors will have access to a gradebook and instructional resources with materials and activities.  Instructors and students will find that this series is interactive and engaging throughout.
