This workbook is designed to assist first-semester college students who are still developing organizational and note-taking skills. Emphasis is on solving problems rather than copying information from the board or textbook. In cases where data or equations are needed, these are rpesented conveniently on the page. Answers to numerical problems are given so students can quickly check their work and move on in a self-paced manner.
The workbook could be used in a variety of settings including in-class group activities, homework, meetings with a tutor, or exam preparation study sessions. The goal is to allow general chemistry students (science and engineering majors) the chance to practice with the material in a way that is closely aligned with typical written exams.
