Sarah J. Melcher, Ph.D., is Professor Emerita of Xavier University (Cincinnati). She received her doctorate in Hebrew Bible from Emory University, M.Div. from Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and B.S. from Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas. Her research interests have included interfaith dialogue, disability in the Bible, African-American biblical interpretation, and sexual practice in the Hebrew Bible. A recent publication edited by Sarah J. Melcher, Mikeal C. Parsons, and Amos Yong is The Bible and Disability: A Commentary from Baylor University Press (2017). Sarah is an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, Florida Conference.
