University 101: The Individual & Life provides freshmen and first-time students with such knowledge and prepare them with an education for life. Students are exposed to and develop an appreciation for such areas as technology, business, science, African American history, art, literature, music, and more; all of which they will encounter in some form throughout their lives.This textbook examines some of the obvious and not so obvious tools individuals can use to build a successful business career. The book begins by examining what an individual needs to do to prepare themselves for their career beginning with the section on defining success for yourself. This text offers shorter chapters using a scaffold layout to engage learners and encourage reading. Self-assessment discussion prompts called “Show Your Understanding” are included that challenges students to apply new skills to hypothetical situations.
