Criminal Investigation: Theory and Practice is a new and novel approach to the science of criminal investigations.  The text is divided into three modules:

Module 1(Chapters 1-6) present the basics of criminal investigation. The module includes crime scene processing, the initial response and crime scene processing, legal implications, case preparation and court procedures. 

Module 2 goes beyond the basics and covers the latest research and techniques on the problematic areas of eyewitness interviews, interrogations, and forensic science.  In the third module the specialized information and techniques for major case investigation investigations including murder, sexual assault, and human trafficking. 

Finally, Module 3 focuses on specialized resources and experts available from experts such as medical examiners, Sane nurses, forensic interviewers, and much more.
